Dispatches - Megamind, Dr. Banner
Jan. 5th, 2014 12:18 pm[Handwritten text]
I have not seen much of you lately but I hope this letter finds you well.
I have returned the fob watch you very kindly made for Jones as at present he has shown himself unable and unfit to go among people in port, by committing acts of murder against unarmed and innocent folk. I am sorry to tell you this as I know it will bring up unpleasant memories.
If you still have the thing I ask you to hold onto it for such later date as he has proved he will make proper use of it, but if you have disposed of it that is the fortunes of war.
I am forever grateful you went to such time and effort to make it, and it showed a good deal of nobility. I am sorry my hurried judgement put you out for nothing and humbly beg your forgiveness.
Your obedient
Wm Bush

Doctor, I've got a sticky question, do you have time talk about the finer points of modern medicine?

Date: 2014-01-05 11:07 pm (UTC)The winter months are trying for me, but I'm doing well enough, thank you for inquiring.
I do still have the watch, and will hold on to it as such time as Mr. Jones can behave himself. He is a cruel man and a tyrant, but as an inmate who found his way to graduation, I can say I'm empathetic to a point. He needs help. Help is what we as wardens are here to provide. Some help is easier than others.
No forgiveness is necessary because no wrong is done! Don't trouble yourself at all. The watch will be here when he's ready.
Always fantastic,
Megamind.

Jones has spoken to me that his temper gets the best of him too easily-- and it leads to quarreling and to murder. He's a strong man-- either the temper must be restrained, or he must. But I don't know how-- I have seen how laudanum turns a violent madman into a pitiful one, but that don't answer here.
Is there anything you know can be done, before I have to resort to shackles?
Re: [private]
Date: 2014-01-06 01:52 am (UTC)I'd suggest a more theraputic route. Charles Xavier and Alana Bloom-- they're both counselors that he could speak to. I'm afraid that requires his willingness to speak truthfully with them and seek a solution but...
Chemical options may not work for Captain Jones. At least, none I know of.

Date: 2014-01-06 02:05 am (UTC)What does counseling entail? He seems willing to speak, but he'll only be pushed to a point-- he ain't out of shoal water yet, and he's still a proud man. [Bush's brow furrows; something's bypassed him, it seems, and he does get weary of that. What the doctor is suggesting is completely foreign to him, could mean anything.]

Re: [private]
Date: 2014-01-06 06:47 am (UTC)I can imagine his face at hearing that-! But perhaps science'll prevail where I know religion won't. I will suggest it to him. Or ought a doctor prescribe-?
